Skip Weshner radio show

February 1963

Tomorrow is a Long Time
Masters of War
Bob Dylan's Blues

This is a very disappointing tape compared to other radio broadcasts. Skip Weshner is a boring long-winded fuck who isn't content to just patronize Dylan, but finds it necessary to actually carry on a monologue the entire time Dylan is sitting in front of him. At least Studs Terkel and Billy Faier try to get Dylan to open up once in a while, even though those attempts were usually doomed to failure. Who cares what Skip Weshner thinks about anything? I want to hear Dylan. For his part, Dylan manages to get in a few decent uhms and yeahs here and there, and we actually get to hear Dylan sing three songs in the course of a 30 minute broadcast. Of course those three songs are what we're all interested in here and they're great of course. Fortunately, the songs chosen are pretty rare - a live version of Bob Dylan's Blues and the little-heard Tomorrow Is a Long Time, at least little heard until recently that is. So your best bet is to edit out the non-interview and just group the three songs together on another tape. You'll be glad you did.
